ZibiMade Has Arrived: A New Wave of Indigenous Art, Made by Hand and Heart

October 22, 2025 – Maniwaki, Quebec

There’s something incredible happening along the river…..a new current of creativity, culture, and community is beginning to flow. 🌊✨

Introducing ZibiMade, an Indigenous art collective and online marketplace dedicated to showcasing anything made by Indigenous hands. From hand-carved creations to beadwork that tells stories older than the land itself, ZibiMade is here to celebrate, support, and elevate Indigenous makers, starting with the Algonquin artists of Kitigan Zibi.

This isn’t just another online store. It’s a movement.

Fair Pay. Real Support. No Middleman.

Here’s what makes ZibiMade different:

We don’t do consignment. We buy your art directly, upfront and at a fair price. That means creators get paid right away for their work, not “if” or “when” it sells.

Once the art is listed on our site, any profit made after covering expenses doesn’t go into corporate pockets, it flows right back into the community to fund future Indigenous creators, help them grow their craft, and build sustainable artistic livelihoods.

ZibiMade is built on reciprocity, the kind of give-and-take that keeps culture alive and communities thriving.

Rooted in the River

The name “Zibi” comes from the Algonquin word for river, a fitting symbol for what we’re building. Like a river, creativity connects us all. It moves, it nourishes, and it carries our stories forward.

Each artist featured on ZibiMade brings their own current of inspiration. Every painting, carving, textile, or handcrafted home piece carries the energy of the land, the people, and the generations who came before.

More Than Art, It’s Connection

ZibiMade isn’t just about selling art, it’s about connection. When you buy from an Indigenous artist, you’re not just supporting a small business. You’re helping keep traditions alive, helping artists feed their families, and ensuring that the next generation grows up proud to create, to share, and to tell their stories.

Whether you’re decorating your home, searching for a meaningful gift, or simply want to support Indigenous artisans directly, ZibiMade gives you a place to do it with heart.
